Storthes Hall Student Awards 2017

Client: Storthes Hall Park Brief: Every year the staff of Storthes Hall Park arrange and award ceremony for the students who live in the accommodation. The ceremony takes place in the onsite venue – aptly called “The Venue” – with awards like ‘Cleanest Kitchen’, or ‘Student Most Likely to be Famous’. A few of the students also provided entertainment in the form of both live music before the awards and a DJ set after.

Skipbridge Farm Cottages (cont.)

Client: Skipbridge Farm Cottages Brief: The nice folk at Skipbridge Farm Cottages asked me back once again to photograph the next couple of cottages they have finished refurbishing. As always the requirement was for high quality photos that clearly demonstrate the standard of living one can enjoy when staying.

Hull – a short walk with a camera…

Last Wednesday I took a trip over to Hull for a meeting and, later, a networking event. Between the two, however, I had a bit of time to have a wander around the city with my camera. I say ‘around the city’ when, in reality, I only had time to walk from the car park down to the estuary and back. Anyway, it was enough time for me to go have a look at my intended subject; Scale Lane Swing Bridge. After finding a few choice compositions there I continued down to The Deep. Yes, I know it’s probably the most photographed building in Hull, but I had yet to join in. And besides, I was more taken with the Centre for Digital Innovation (or C4DI) opposite. It’s nice to see such an industrial location like Hull getting an injection of more modern architecture.   I like the contrast between the two building details here. It seem the C4DI took it’s design cues from The Deep…   Once it was time to head back I made my way over to the Lightstream Stadium (the home of Hull Kingston Rovers) for the latest meet up of The Property Club. The group […]

Chester B&B Photography – Lavender Lodge

Client: Lavender Lodge Brief: I was booked to update the photographs of this lovely B&B over in Chester. The request from the owner was to produce images that give potential guests the closest representation of what they can expect on arrival.                           The B&B also has a nice garden seating area for guests to enjoy…

Lawrence Batley Theatre

Client: Lawrence Batley Theatre Brief: The marketing department of the theatre required new, up-to-date images of the theatre building and it’s interior. This included the performance spaces, meeting rooms and social areas.

PR Portraits – Katie Sweep

You might not realise, but I also shoot PR headshots/portraits for businesses. Here are a handful of images from a recent shoot with Katie Wiggins, owner of Katie Sweep, a chimney and flu cleaning service based near York…

Corfu…

Kelly and I were recently lucky enough to have a week’s break in Corfu – our first trip abroad since our honeymoon six years ago! – so I thought I’d share a couple of the snaps I took which highlight the architectural differences between the UK and Corfu. I won’t waffle on about them – just browse and enjoy…                         And it wouldn’t be Greece without a picture of a cute kitten…
